What our students are saying

The CodeWorks education platform numbers over 700+ on campus students with another 11,000+ virtual students. We are honored to have so many trusting us with their growth as individuals and professionals.

I cannot thank Codeworks enough for the amazing experience they offer. As a recent graduate, I can truly say that coming here was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Over the course, students learn to code, of course, but so much more is gained. Valuable friendships, hands on learning, a sincere desire for all to succeed, and so much more. The care and kindness of every staff member is evident from the start, and they are right by your side throughout the entire journey. The course is intense, but in a successful and empowering way. Having in-person lessons is a great asset when learning to program. And the relaxing environment offered as a learning space lends an additional helping hand. I would recommend Codeworks to anyone without a moment's hesitation. Thank you Jake for giving students the opportunity to change their future!

- Laura Alspaugh

I am a recent graduate of CodeWorks and I loved everything about the whole experience. The instructors and TA's care about everyone and everyone's learning. The course was difficult, but rewarding. I'm excited for the new journey and opportunities that await me ever since taking this course. You learn industry standard practices and apply them to daily projects and weekly assignments. You even get career services even as an alumni. Everyone is fantastic and I made a lot of friends along the way but also learned valuable skills. I highly recommend anyone and everyone to look into CodeWorks if you're interested in developing your future or to learn new things

- Tri Le

My experience at CodeWorks has been absolutely fantastic. The instructors and staff are always working to make sure you're ready to start a new career and really passionate about helping students change their lives. There is a lot of focus on soft skills and career prep in addition to the time spent learning to write code. I feel like this and the connections to the tight knit Boise tech community really set CodeWorks apart from other options.

- Ryan Carpenter

Quitting my job to attend CodeWorks is quite simply one of the best decisions I ever made. It really helped me elevate to someone who is familiar with coding through online tutorials to someone who can confidently call themselves a software developer. You spend a lot of time getting a deeper understanding of software development concepts, and building full-stack applications. I recently landed a web developer role, and it feels amazing to see the work I put in at CodeWorks pay off. I highly recommend this bootcamp to anyone who is willing to put the time and effort in to change their career.

- Tom Pasini

Taking the Immersive Full Stack course at BoiseCodeWorks was the best decision I made on my path to landing my first job as a software developer. I had previously tried learning to code on my own, but felt that my progress was too slow. I also worried about potential gaps in my knowledge harming my chances of successfully starting a career in software development. BoiseCodeWorks provided a well-structured, focused curriculum, giving me the tools I needed to transition from a complete beginner with only a basic knowledge of programming to a confident junior developer in just 13 weeks. The course was heavily focused on projects and programming challenges, building skills through practical application. Enough theory was covered to provide context for these skills, creating a strong foundation for future learning. This balanced approach gave me the ability to confidently navigate technical interviews and build functional, well-designed applications both on my own and as part of a team. A strong curriculum is nothing without great teachers, and this is an area where BoiseCodeWorks truly excels. The instructors were very attentive to the needs of their students, taking care to clearly and thoroughly explain concepts. They understand that learning to code can be a difficult and intimidating process, and were always willing to help students overcome their struggles and become skilled and confident programmers. BoiseCodeWorks offers a high-quality, practical, and well-rounded education for a very reasonable price. I highly recommended it for anyone looking to gain the skills necessary to succeed as a junior developer.

- Kyle Krawl

I would say that I came into this course not knowing what to expect. The staff creates a phenomenal work/learning environment with an interactive style. I had zero experience with coding before getting accepted into the program. After 13 weeks and a lot of work, I feel ready to enter the professional world with a sound knowledge for web development. I'm extremely grateful for my experience with CodeWorks. I hope other will make the same decision and just apply! If you're on the fence, get off and just go for it! Best decision I have ever made.

- Kris Jones

CodeWorks has been one of the most amazing experiences.. you definitely get pushed probably more than you will expect, but you have the best support around you to help you succeed and if you listen to them, then you WILL succeed! Taking this program was one of the best decisions of my life. I would recommend CodeWorks to anyone interested in changing fields and feels confident in learning material in a fast-paced setting!!

- Austin Downey

I'm a recent graduate from CodeWorks and couldn't possibly express just how amazing an experience it was. The instructors and TA's genuinely care and are always eager to help those who want to be helped, everyone in the school was incredibly supportive through all of my difficulties and successes, and our classes instructor took the time each day to try to ensure we learned everything he was trying to teach. Of course it was hard, it's a bootcamp after all, but it's nearly impossible to fail if you truly want to succeed and are willing to put in the effort.

- Ky Want

BoiseCodeWorks was an amazing experience that helped me to shift my career to software development! The staff truly care about your success, and their instruction quality is top-notch. They're also excellent at teaching you how to network and giving you opportunities to do so. If you put in the time, energy, and effort, you'll likely find yourself loving what you learn and make while surrounded by good people. I'm so grateful that I now look forward to going to work every day! Thanks BCW!

- Levi S.

BCW is an amazing school with a well established and fast paced curriculum which is exactly how i like to learn. Their staff is phenomenal and will take every chance to help you succeed in school as well as landing your first job.

- Jake Rozsa

My expectations were blown away by CodeWorks. Instructors know all of the necessary concepts to get you up to speed to become a software developer. Additionally you get to build out full stack applications, work in development teams, and receive essential career guidance along the way. By the end of the course I landed a job at my ideal workplace! I highly recommend this highly-focused, hands-on learning experience.

- Miles Wilson

Amazing staff. The curriculum is demanding so that employers know you are serious. The teachers know their stuff. The atmosphere is fun and educational. I would recommend this boot camp to anyone considering switching to software development. I am super grateful this company exists. They helped me change my career and find a job. Just follow the path they have paved and making the transition is fairly simple. Although, they can’t teach you everything about software development to learn in 13 weeks, they do teach some of the more popular languages and frameworks and teach you how to learn since software developers are always learning.

- CJ green

My experience at Boise Codeworks was amazing! Starting with foundational knowledge and slowly (kind of) scaling into more advanced material, everything in this course flowed very well. We learned HTML, CSS, SCSS, Node.js, Vue.js, C#, MySQL, Agile Methodology, MVC pattern and so much more. On top of all the topics, without me even noticing at first they also taught us how to code in a clean way and use a lot of best practices. Boise Codeworks doesn't just teach you how to code, it prepares you for your future career. I can't recommend this program enough!

- Kevin Kelley

When I decided to attend Boise CodeWorks, I had the hope that it would be a valuable way to enter a new career field and improve my ability to support myself. I had no idea that it would be such a valuable and enriching experience in and of itself. Boise CodeWorks and my cohort both created a focused and supportive learning environment like I've never experienced. Boise CodeWorks blew away my expectations. Deciding to attend has cemented itself as one of the best decisions I've ever made.

- Parker Burkett

I doubted myself. I had no coding ability going into this school. But the instructors are incredibly talented and patient. I went from that low place of doubt to a strong feeling of confidence in my coding ability. Anyone wanting to learn or change their life with new skills and technology this is the perfect place!

- Thomas

This is the most valuable training I have ever received. I have a bachelors degree in biology and certification as a phlebotomist. I have obtained many other certifications throughout my career and none are even close to this experience. CodeWorks has an intense program but it was worth it. I feel that I am prepared to enter into an industry where I can be successful as a developer. The staff at CodeWorks are not just here to just teach a skill, but really come along side you and guide you through the program. The investment they put into me allowed me to be confident in the skills that are required to start a successful career. There is no better choice you could make when looking for a career change than coming to CodeWorks.

- Trevor Douty

Drop what your doing and sign up for this course immediately! I did a lot of research before choosing to go through this intensive course and my only regret is not doing it sooner! Definitely one of the best experiences of my life! I feel like a completely new person, they take what little aptitude you have for computer programming and magnify it with their vast knowledge and incredible teaching skills. The entire staff here are 100% invested in you and your success. I've never seen an education system that is so well designed, not only do they give you the skills needed for a career in software development but they actually prepare you for job hunting and interviews. Everyone should know the name CodeWorks because it's the best program out there!

- Daniel Hildebrandt

Going to Boise CodeWorks has by far been one of the best choices I have ever made. Before going here I was teaching myself how to code on freeCodeCamp after work and on the weekends. After about 8 months, I felt that coding is something I am super passionate about and needed to find a school to really help teach me what I need to know to get into this field. This school does such a great job of teaching and helping you understand the concepts in such a short amount of time. It does get stressful but they know how to keep learning fun. The projects they have you make are really cool and great for putting on your portfolio. I am happy to have graduated, sad to be leaving the school, and excited to be starting my career! I would absolutely recommend Boise CodeWorks to anyone looking to become a developer!

- Katrina Fuller

CodeWorks was basically the best experience of my life! I didn't have any coding experience going in to this program but with the help of their awesome instructors and TA's I was able to understand and implement the weekly content and in the end I was building full-stack applications! 10/10 fully recommend. If you are considering the "boot-camp" route, there is no better place!

- Natalya Peet

I knew Boise CodeWorks was a challenging program, but I never thought that I would learn so much in such a short amount of time. The curriculum is centered on building actual full-stack applications, and the instructors/staff have a singular focus of helping the students find success. Leaving with a portfolio of real-world applications that you built each week is invaluable during the job-search. I whole-heartedly recommend Boise Codeworks to anyone looking to challenge themselves in an environment that is centered around rapid, meaningful understanding of web development.

- John Lund

I was ready for change in 2021 and wanted to break into IT as quickly as possible. Codeworks delivered. I first found Codeworks by searching online for bootcamps. I didn't know anyone who had been through the course so I scoured their reviews and website. I toured with Brittany (who is one of the loveliest people you'll meet) and signed up for the Spring 2021 class. I chose them because of the in-person instruction and their relationships with local employers (and very good price point compared to online boot camps). I accepted an offer the day of my graduation and got to enter a new career field that holds so many possibilities and made lifelong friends along the way. The sacrifices and challenges of not working for 4 months and the course itself were all so worth it. I'll always be grateful to my Codeworks family! My husband recently graduated as well. I would 100% recommend Codeworks. If you're considering the course and on the fence, find any alumni on LinkedIn and ask about their experience!

- Michaela Bickish

CodeWorks' operations felt like a well oiled machine. They are very fluid in operation and have all the staff necessary to helping you learn and succeed on a software development career path. The instructors were Incredibly knowledgeable and have teaching patterns in place that help you learn not only well, but at a fast pace. Brittany gives amazing hands on help to make you desirable to employers, and preps you for the upcoming job search. Coming from the standard University courses, CodeWorks has been a refreshing take on learning. University gave me a good grasp conceptually, but actually writing it out was a struggle. Codeworks was a jump right in to coding and development. We learned as we coded and built fun complex applications using the concepts we just learned. This helped solidify how things were done and how to actually implement it in real world. I would highly recommend anyone on the fence about doing a boot camp to checkout CodeWorks. They have been in this market for awhile and know exactly what they are doing. They are also very adaptive to the current needs of the market. You won't regret it.

- Brig Lowell

Codeworks is more then a boot camp. In my experience both the staff and my fellow students feel more like family. I've created bonds that could last a lifetime emboided by our love of code. Being completely new to software development this course was intimidating, but I knew after my first interaction with the staff that I was in a safe and encouraging learning environment. To anyone looking to change their life for the better and join the world of software development welcome home.

- Justin Carpenter

I was always interested in learning to code and had been looking for a course that could give me a solid foundation. Before I attended Codeworks I was trying to learn through online courses. I had some success but I never felt like I was advancing. I needed a course that would teach me the fundamentals that I needed and really the "tools" I needed to progress. This Course gave me that and more. The curriculum has lots of time to do real developing and building out full stack apps, not just lectures, worksheets or code-alongs. The instructors and staff are more than knowledgeable in their field and genuinely great people to be around. I cannot recommend this course more to anyone looking to get into software development.

- beasticorn

When I was reading reviews during my research of CodeWorks I ran into several reviews that former students mentioned being sad to leave the program - initially I thought this couldn't be true. Who really LIKES school? Well, I can say that I'm going to miss CodeWorks immensely. I've never been around people so dedicated to helping students learn and excel. I was blown away with the kindness, patience, and care shown by everyone involved. These people LOVE what they do and it shows. They gave me everything needed to excel and learn how to be the best software developer I can be. The things I learned here are going to follow me the rest of my career. If you're wanting to learn how to code and you're on the fence about CodeWorks - Do it. You will not regret it. You will not find a better program.

- Harrison Wheeler

Codeworks was one of best experiences of my life. It was extremely challenging in the most rewarding way. The projects we were given pushed me to learn and expand my knowledge daily and weekly. The staff helped me achieve my goals of becoming the software developer that I wanted to be.

- Troy Fuhriman

BoiseCodeWorks was the missing link for me. I graduated college with a degree in IT Management and decided that software development was what I wanted to do, but struggled to get anywhere with my job search afterward. College doesn’t prepare you for employment very well. I’d spend hours tailoring my resume to job postings and sending them out into the void just to get one automated rejection response after another. It became clear that I needed additional training and experience to get where I was hoping to end up. It was either a $20-70K masters’ degree and another two years of being poor, or pursue various certifications that may or may not help. After considering different options, I decided to give BoiseCodeWorks a shot. They were extremely reasonably priced and have a surprisingly robust reputation in the valley. They are well respected by the companies in Boise and they, unlike BSU, go the extra mile in helping you get a job with a full week of career preparation from working industry professionals, a rep from the Idaho Dept. of Labor and others who specialize in getting people employed in the field. They provide the opportunity to do some powerful networking with heavy hitters in the valley in just a few days. The quality of the education I got from BoiseCodeWorks was phenomenal. The course is fast paced and definitely requires dedication, but the teachers are very knowledgeable and have a teaching style that makes it fun. Management gives you a voice and listens to your feedback. They also provide plenty of after-hours tutoring at no additional cost if you need help and can adjust or give additional projects to make sure you’re challenged even if you’re more advanced than the rest of the class. The course provides lots of hands-on training to solidify the new material. The resulting projects give you lots to talk about in interviews afterward. Lastly, they do fun activities to help you have a good time and make some lasting friends and connections. If you’re looking to get into software development, especially in the Boise area, BoiseCodeWorks is the way to do it.

- Spencer Henze

Boise Code Works was by far one of the best experiences I have ever had. The staff are so encouraging and make every moment of the program a learning experience. I learned how to Code and be prepared to enter into a new and exciting career field. I know that i will be a better employee, team player, and person because of the things i have learned.

- Eva Rozsa

I am a recent graduate of BoiseCodeWorks and I have you tell you, changing careers and attending this bootcamp was the best decision of my life! All of the staff and trainers are 100% invested in your success and future and do everything they can to help you become the best developer you can be. I would recommend BoiseCodeWorks to anyone that's willing to work hard and learn a lot. Best support and guidance I could have asked for. Carissa

- Carissa Morrow

I came to Codeworks with a degree in Business Marketing from a very well reviewed program and a lot of good business experience. I felt that in this course the information covered in regards to career planning was covered the same, if not better than my business program. They definitely understand what makes candidates attractive to employers and will coach you to get there. The course is very challenging, but it will give you the tools you need to jumpstart a career in development. During the hardest parts you just have to remember it's always darkest before the dawn. - Vincent

- Vincent Colburn

I had the pleasure of graduating from CodeWorks' Immersive Full Stack program recently, and it definitely exceeded my expectations. I was feeling burnt out in my previous career and was ready for a change, but was hesitant to pull the trigger. What finally sealed the deal for me was speaking with several graduates of their course. As a small, local business they are fully invested in the success of each and every student. Their curriculum is fast paced and difficult, but they give you all of the tools you need to succeed. When the Covid-19 pandemic hit, they seamlessly transitioned from a classroom environment to teaching fully online, and the level of instruction we received never wavered. One of the biggest things that sets CodeWorks apart from their competitors is their family atmosphere and career preparation. They also have tremendous professional connections throughout the Treasure Valley. If you are thinking about making a career change into the world of software development, I cannot recommend the Boise CodeWorks program enough.

- Robert Gumeny

Boise CodeWorks was an amazing experience and well worth the time, effort, and money. The teachers and staff are very knowledgable and genuinely care about your success as a developer. Though the work is difficult, they really provided the information and resources you need to grow your practical knowledge about coding. They cater to a variety of learning styles and levels of skill, which was very helpful. In addition to sharing their knowledge about coding, they really prepare you in finding a job after BCW. They encourage creating connections with local companies and even give interviewing practice and tips. I would highly recommend the Immersive Full Stack program for anyone who is interested in coding and wanting to gain practical, real world experience creating full stack applications. I started the course with little coding experience, but with all of the available support and guidance from the staff and my drive to succeed, I received a job offer with a great company in less than a week after graduating.

- Kimberly Streicher

I was really scared about coming to Boise CodeWorks. The idea of bootcamps in general was very intimidating to me and the idea of quitting my job to take the giant leap towards a career change had me petrified. I had been studying code on my own for about 6 or 7 months, but trying to find the time to devote to programming while working a full time job (and night shift, no less) was really difficult. I knew that my current field wasn't the right fit for me though, so I decided to take the plunge and try CodeWorks. I can say that this has been an incredible experience and that CodeWorks has enabled me to completely change my life and follow my dreams. The instructors are really knowledgeable and able to spend extra time with you if you need it. They gave extra challenges based on skill level. Everyone was really nice too. They also have an extra week focused entirely on helping you find employment, and the daily code challenges were good practice for thinking on the spot for technical interviews. I took the Immersive Full Stack course and being able to devote myself to coding full-time allowed me to truly flourish. I am so glad that I went to CodeWorks, and if you're thinking about it, I highly encourage you to go and at least talk to them! You won't regret it.

CodeWorks has been the best choice I have ever made in terms of my development as a career seeker and as a person. In three months, I went from knowing nothing about programming to coming out the other side with a job lined up as a Junior Software Developer. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and supportive, and are truly invested in your success. By the end of the course, these people will be your family, and will support you beyond the course as you hunt for jobs and opportunities. CodeWorks is truly a treasure of the Treasure Valley, and Boise is lucky to have such an excellent institution to teach such valuable skills. If you have ever wanted to try a coding bootcamp, do yourself a favor and choose CodeWorks. You won’t regret it!

CodeWorks was so much more than I thought it would be. It taught me a ton about all aspects of software development in a short amount of time. I feel like I'm ready to enter this career field even though I had basically zero experience in software development prior to this course. CodeWorks really does give you all the tools to succeed.

- Kody Dudley

CodeWorks is an opportunity to change your life. The program is designed and proven to jumpstart a career in development. In addition to the program, the staff is next level. Instructors are extremely knowledgable and Brittany does an amazing job of helping students get placed in jobs. The atmosphere is comfortable and encourages learning at all times. I would highly recommend CodeWorks to anyone interested in changing careers or starting a career in Software Development.

I took 2 of the Hybrid Learning courses (DotNet 101 & DotNet 203) and I plan on taking the next 2 courses (WebDev 101 & WebDev 201). Definitely taking more as the classes have been both enjoyable and fulfilling! I've learned way more about programming here than I have in any of the online courses I've watched. They create a friendly environment for their students and you can tell the staff really care about their work and their student's success. The instructors are awesome and have a great sense of humor which makes all the learning that much more enjoyable! They also take time to answer questions that may only pertain to you which shows they really care. Class tuition is very affordable! Especially in comparison to many other bootcamps. I highly recommend checking out and attending CodeWorks if you're looking to dive into web development or programming. Even if you already have experience in programming you can still learn a lot here.

The services CodeWorks provides are life changing. Not only did I learn a lot from the program, I also had an amazing time making memories with my classmates as well as the staff. Every day is a blast and the staff is knowledgeable and will help you work through roadblocks, increasing the rate at which you are able to learn. After graduation the staff still works hard for you. This proves they actually care about you and your success; at CodeWorks, you are NOT just a number. CodeWorks is one of the greatest influences in my life today, and I cannot express how grateful I am to have been given the opportunity to get into a career path I enjoy and start living a life I’ve always dreamed and knew I was capable of. I highly recommend you do anything and everything it takes to make enrolling in CodeWorks possible. If you take my advice, you’ll be thanking yourself in 13 weeks.

- Caleb Sherfick

I went to CodeWorks, completed the program and had a job as a junior software developer less than a week after graduating. The entire staff there is dedicated to helping their students complete the program and have success in the job market after graduation. I couldn't speak more highly of Boise CodeWorks!

- Malik Whitfield

Codeworks was a life changing experience. It took me from not knowing anything about code to being comfortable making real world applications and understanding to be able to read code. The teachers are very knowledgeable and the staff are friendly and supportive.

- Derek Wallace

I came to codeworks with little to no coding experience, and came out with a career. I came from a background in construction and general labor, so this was a big change for me. Not only were the instructors very knowledgeable, and patient, but they also engaged the class as a whole. Not to mention the fun games during lunch breaks building friendships with my fellow classmates playing Bang! Mario, and other card games. I'm so happy I pushed myself to this challenge, and the staff were truly amazing, without them I wouldn't be where I am today. Thank you Codeworks for everything you've done for me. If you're thinking about joining the codeworks family, I highly recommend it, you won't be disappointed. Jump start your career!

- Rhianon Kilzer

Going to Boise CodeWorks was the greatest decision I have ever made. I couldn't believe everything I was able to learn in just 12 weeks. It can be scary to drop your whole life and just focus on coding for 3 months but I promise it is so worth it. You can tell the faculty really cares and wants you to succeed as well as help you every step of the way.

- colby DeRango

If you're reading this review, it means you're thinking about taking the leap... Do it. The staff is incredible-- effective, earnest, and kind. They deeply care about whether you succeed. They always do their best to do right by their students. Can you learn coding on your own? Sure. But you won't get anywhere near the same level of quality, support, and structure that this course has. On my own, I would've given up 100 times, and at BCW I never had to. If you can commit to taking it seriously, BCW will commit back and make sure you come out on the other side with all the skills you need to flourish in a new career.

- Grant Brees

The instructors are very fun and very skilled. They all make learning full-stack web development easy. Playing games at lunch makes it easier to get to know your peers and make the learning environment more friendly. The instructors provide many resources to study outside of class as well as video recorded lectures for those who were unable to attend class or those who just need a refresher. The hackathons were very useful to really dive into implementing the knowledge we'd practiced in class, as well as, to increase our ability to work in teams.

- Andria Brown

I am so grateful for the experience codeworks provided as it not only changed my career, but my whole life. Codeworks truly invests in your success and growth as a person. In the beginning, it was such a challenge to learn a new skill and leave a stable job. However, doing so allowed for me to begin a new career that is both challenging and extremely rewarding in such a short amount of time

- natalie graveson

I'm a big review guy, I read reviews on everything before I purchase or attend the thing being reviewed. And when I found 0, I mean 0 negative reviews across all the BCW platforms, I was in shock. This place sounded amazing from the get go, come to find out, it was even better than that! I recommend this school to anyone looking to get into this industry. The staff at BCW goes beyond any traditional teacher sense, they become your friend. Their availability to help you in every aspect is constant and they go above and beyond to make you a better developer and a better person. If you have any doubts about joining their program, get rid of them. If you put the effort in and use the resources wisely, your opportunities when the course is completed will be 10-fold. And yes it is sad when you graduate(as many reviewers have stated) because these guys truly rock!

Codeworks is an amazing place to learn software development skills. I took their immersive full stack program in the fall of 2018 and have no regrets. Staff and instructors are knowledgeable and supportive.

- Felix Ramirez

I am a recent graduate of the first cohort. I came into the bootcamp with some knowledge of fullstack development, currently pursuing a bs in computer science. I can honestly say the experience i had at BCW was amazing my skill and understanding increased ten fold, i would never tell anyone not to go to college for the degree, but i would not have the jobs i have currently or the skill to get those jobs without the in-depth understanding of coding i received at BoiseCodeWorks. Both Jake and Matt are extremely knowledgeable and GREAT teachers. They both dedicate 110% of their effort to helping every student grasp the concepts that are being taught. If you are thinking about a career in the world of fullstack development i urge you to go to BoiseCodeWorks there is no camp in this area that is more dedicated to producing skilled, knowledgeable programmers.

- DblClick nope

This bootcamp is amazing! I came in with very little coding experience and left as a Full Stack Developer with a plethora of skills relevant to the coding industry. This is a challenging program but it is worth it to be on course for a lifetime career in the coding industry!

- Samantha Bullington
